podcasting is to content as breathing is to air

Everybody and their brother seems to have a podcast. There’s nothing wrong with that; audio’connell Voice Over Talent does intros, outros and sometimes the full podcast production for some of our clients.

But while having a podcast may make you seem cool, your more likely to come off like a fool if you don’t have the content to go with it.Of course as we’ve seen often on TV, lacking content has never scared some folks from going “live to air”…even though it should have. It will be the same with the millions of people who are and who will become podcasters.

A friend of mine, Leesa Barnes in Toronto, Canada has a very cool business, Caprica Interactive Marketing where she consults with individuals and especially corporations to use podcasting to boost sales, create an online buzz and turn listeners into clients (as usual, she’s way ahead of the curve on this.)

Full disclosure: I’ve done some intros and outros for podcasts and some of her clients as well, here’s an example.

Throughout her blog, Podonomics she reiterates how critical content is. Yet some people, as we all know, still don’t get it and blow a chance at a true guerilla marketing opportunity.Where have you heard the best podcast? Any votes for the um….not best? We’re not looking to hurt feelings here, just compare and contrast.
