vote for peter’s new glasses
Posted on August 10th, 2010 by peter k. o'connell, your friendly, neighborhood voice-over talent
I lost my glasses.
They’re gone and it’s sad but life goes on.
But I need a new pair.
These are two popular choices (no I don’t have the pictures of me wearing them even though they took pictures…dunno where they out them, probably deleted it.
Any way, you vote:
A) The BLACK pair
B) The SILVER pair
C) What ARE you thinking, you’d look awful in both
Voting is now open, comment below please.
UPDATE: Due to popular demand: here are the pictures of me wearing the glasses (the pictures are a bit odd and someday I’ll tell the story of why but for now – here we go.
Gotta see them ON to chose!
Oh well, not going to happen before the purchase, Terry. Sorry.
But thanks for the thought.
Best always,
– Peter
Silver for sure. But that depends on how thick your lenses are. If really thick, then go with the black ones. Why? No clue. Good luck! I’m sure you can pull them off either way.
Thanks Anthony.
Best always,
– Peter

It’s tough without seeing them on you, but my guess is the silver ones. The black are just too dark and heavy for your face. Frankly, it’s the lesser of two evils!
Ohh Peter, I wear glasses myself and I know how difficult it is to choose a good pair. For me “The black ones” are much more stylish. Good luck with it!
jacqueline
Jacqueline thanks for your vote.
Mary – It was weird, they did take pictures of me in the glasses but they didn’t send those pics. I was hoping they would.
I appreciate everyone’s input.
Best always,
– Peter
I’m thinking the silver ones, Peter. Mostly because they have less of a frame on the bottom. I don’t think you need a hugely obviously frame around the whole lense … Good luck with the choosing though! All the best, — Jodi
Silver seems pretty popular…this is very interesting.
Thank Jodi.
Best always,
– Peter
Neither!!!!! They are both awful! What planet are you on? Where is my sister?
Your favorite Sister-in-Law, Cindy π
Good heavens!
I’m with Cindy.
Let’s see some gold wire-rims, or rimless.
Silver. Black is too trendy. Silver would look great with your hair.
I like the silver Peter.
BUT the bigger question is, will you be wearing a Buffalo Bills cap or Buffalo Sabres cap to accompany them?
Hi Peter,
I’d go with the silver ones for you but I must say the black ones look really cool.
The black rims have that intelligent, sophisticated look about them but in the end it doesn’t matter which brand, colour or rim/rimless glasses you choose to wear. You’re still cool, intelligent and on the cutting edge regardless!
Take care,
Stephanie
Well Mary, we’ll see if we can get some rimless samples to look at.
Best always,
– Peter
Hi Jamee,
Thanks…I never thought of the hair angle.
Best always,
– Peter
Ralph,
That would be a Sabres cap. One in gold and one in white…BOTH with the old school logo!
Best always,
– Peter
I’m kinda liking the black ones myself but everyone else seems to think grey…hmmmm.
Thank you also for the kind words.
Best always,
– Peter
I’m liking the black frames ~ but if all else fails and you can’t decide there’s always Lasik! π
Thanks Tracy, but I am not a good candidate for Lasik….lasers, eyes…mmmm nope thanks π
Best always,
– Peter
Have to see them on your face to choose!
Well, my wife says we’re going to try and pull that off this weekend.
If it works out, I’ll post them. The glasses lady DID take pictures of me in them but then sent me that picture instead. Sheesh. π
Best always,
– Peter
You have given new meaning to the expression “15 Seconds of FRame” Peter:)
I’m thinking that silver is the way to go. Without a mustache, the lighter frames will only make you look younger and younger!
Good luck with the final decision…
Cheers,
Linda
“hi-yo SILVER!”
…unless you’re going for that ulta-intelligent look Dr. Who has when he slips on those black hornrims.
OK Kids, for your viewing pleasure, the pictures of me WEARING the glasses have now been added.
Please feel free to update your comments accordingly. π
Best always,
– Peter
I like the black pair. Like Stephanie said, they have that intelligent, almost professorial look. The black rims also frame your eyes nicely, making them a more prominent feature- which is actually a good thing.
My two cents.
=)
Moe
First choice black, second choice silver. It’s a hard decision.
My vote is 100% for the black pair! Yummy!
The grey “bottom-less frames” give you the “Courvo eyes”… very professional looking.
The black frames remind me of that kid who used to sit at the front of the class, in front of the teacher’s desk.
Of the two, I prefer the silver/grey ones. They sit better on your face.
silver pair – hands down.
Peter,
PS. Silver.
Peter,
— Please insert snarky comment here about how ONLY you could draw 30+ comments on your blog regarding a topic as ridiculous as your choice of eyewear. When I grow up, I wanna be you! —
PS.
Silver.
I’m in the silver camp simply because I see your face with those and not the glasses.
I like the silver ones they show more of your eyes and your new younger looking face.
What Doug said!
PS: Silver
:-*
who is reading you these responses? OR SHOULD I TYPE IN ALL CAPS FOR THE READERS DIGEST VERSION?
if you’re going for the buddy holly look, and who isn’t, really-then the black ones.
Thanks all, people really like the silver….but Amy says the black frame are yummy….hmmmm.
Best always to you all,
– Peter
Black. Very cool.
[…] Many thanks to all of you who so kindly vote, opined and other wise sounded off on the correct choice for my new eye glasses in a blog post a while back. […]
