about

If my blog records are to be believed, the Voxmarketising blog was born on May 20, 2005 at 11:17 pm (even before Twitter started) with a harmless (or useless) post about message on-hold.

The internet has still not forgiven me for that post or the over 1,500 posts I’ve made since then.
I’m Peter K. O’Connell, a professional voice actor for over 40 years and the owner of the Voxmarketising Blog & Podcast, audio’connell Voiceover Talent, The Voiceover Workshop and author of The Voiceover Entrance Exam.

Voxmarketising started out as my answer to and participation in the beginning of social media when blogs (and later vlogs – video blogs) and podcasts were all the rage for small business marketing.
But for me it grew quickly from wanting to use the blog as a marketing tool (although it still is) to a place to share my knowledge and, occasionally, my opinions on matters of voiceover, marketing and advertising.
We’ve had some fun here, made a few mistakes and hopefully helped people learn a thing or two.

As for my voiceover work – which is often how people find this blog – I have done thousands of hours of voiceover recording for scores and scores and scores (I mean a lot) of brands including Amazon (AWS), Crest Toothpaste, iHeart Radio and Duracell Batteries.
You can check out a partial list of my voiceover credits here.
You can listen to many of my voiceover demos here.
Hopefully, you’ll find what you need here and enjoy what you read, watch and listen to on this blog.
If you’d like to work with me on a voiceover project, you can contact me here.
