voice actor john morris of toy story 3

Toy Story 3 comes out tomorrow. The voice actor who plays Andy, the owner of all the toys like ‘Woody’ and ‘Buzz Lightyear’ has provide the character’s voice in all 3 films.

He started when he was 7, the next movie was made when he was in his teens and now, in his mid-twenties, he’s voiced Andy for the 3rd time.

Here’s an interesting interview with voice actor John Morris.

Voice Over Master Don LaFontaine

Most folks in voice over are aware of who Don LaFontaine was and what an enormous impact he had on our industry. He was our public face and best of all our public voice.

Don’s friends and fellow voice talents Joe Cipriano and Paul Pape have been the leaders in establishing the Don LaFontaine Voice-over Lab inside the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. This will create a studio where union talents can attend classes and record free of charge. All this in recognition of Don’s legendary generosity to other voice talents.

I’m not a Union voice actor presently so I can’t use the facility…so why will I financially support it? Why am I asking you, my readers, to do the same?

Because, as Don knew and showed through his actions, it is the right thing to do.

For the full catalog of promotional videos promoting the Don LaFontaine Voice-over Lab inside the Screen Actors Guild Foundation, please visit the always enjoyable blog of George M. Whittam but in the meantime here’s a video of support for the Lab from one of Don’s very satisfied customers, Entertainment Tonight.

bat logos

OK, it’s a bit geeky for a grown man to watch a video of how the Batman logo has evolved over the years, I’ll grant you.

I’ve always like the Batman comics and some of the movies and there’s a chance maybe you have too.

But unlike me, you can watch this anonymously and no one will know just how geeky you are. Enjoy.

audio’connell’s musical time suck

Admit it, some days (say Monday) you click on to YouTube because a song pops into your head and you want to see if the video is online, or maybe there is a live performance of it you’ve never seen.

And then after you watch the video, you see the column on the right has links to other songs you like but haven’t seen so you click on that.

This cycle repeats itself until suddenly you realize it’s Wednesday.

Well, enjoy today’s musical time suck.

you may have missed this too…

When it comes to viral videos and such, I’m always behind about 1,000,000 people in learning about them. Maybe it’s work or kids or travel but I never know about these things early on.

So to find Stephanie Ciccarelli’s post today about a viral video wedding announcement brilliantly crafted as a movie trailer that has been on morning shows and blogs for a while now, I thought why should I bother posting it?

Then I realized, there are more “me” types out there than there are viral adopters so you may not have seen it either.

Sometimes I give these things too much thought – just watch the darn thing 🙂

And congrats to voice talent Larry Wayne for getting the gig and going viral.

more audio’connell fun on you tube

After the worldwide success of my YouTube debut a few months ago, while I had some time this week during a commercial session, I thought you would enjoy watching how I performed my parts for a radio spot I was cast in.

This again was a remote recording session but I think its great fun and at the end you hear the finished part – chosen not by me but by the producer of the spot. I hope you enjoy it.

And if you are not yet a subscriber to my YouTube channel, I hope you will be, it’s free.
