“get yur red hot photos!”

Voice Actors and the Internet Panel at VOICE 2010 (Back row i.e. the tall people) David Kaplan, Voice Over Xtra's! John Florian, Doug Turkel (front row i.e. the little people) Peter K. O'Connell, VOICE Co-founder James Alburger, Trish Basyani and VOICE Co-founder Penny Abshire

I’m not sure if they total a million but there certainly are a s—load of pictures from VOICE 2010 now available to look at.

After awhile -because there are SO many -it’s kind of like looking at someone’s vacation photos – more fun if you were there. And I gotta say, since I was there, it was a lot of fun to look at.

To add to the fun (cause they’re fun people) I’ll propose a new drinking game while looking at the photos – take a drink every time you see a photo with either of the co-founders of VOICE 2010 James Alburger or Penny Abshire. Take two drinks if you see them in the same photo.

If you view the album in calendar order, I think you’ll be truly drunk by the end of Wednesdays photos, blacking out by the end of Thursday’s album and in the hospital by Friday.

Actually, its probably safer if you look at the pictures without any drinks at all. 😉

bob souer talks about anxiety and progress

Two thoughts before I include a link to Bob Souer’s blog post:

1. When Bob sits down to truly share his thoughts on his blog – it’s always among the most worthwhile stuff on the net to read.

2. For as long as I’ve known Bob (which seems like forever – in a good way- but really isn’t) I can’t ever imagine him being anxious. Obviously he’s human but Bob reminds me more of a duck: gliding seemingly effortlessly across the water but paddling like the dickens under the water.

Now read this, and then this post on HMHB.org about anxiety.

Thanks.

the recorded feed from the opening of the don lafontaine voiceover lab

Don LaFontaine Voiceover Lab

True to his word, George Whittam recorded the entire opening last night.

If you weren’t there (and most of us weren’t in spite of generous invitations) here’s what you (and I) missed. The ribbon cutting takes place at about 19 minutes in.

Thanks George.

Thanks Don.

some acting and back story insights from the voice actors of The Lion King

Maybe its just me who finds entertaining these interviews with some of the voice actors from The Lion King.

I especially found interesting Nathan Lane’s interview about the dark parts of this movie which I always found unnecessary to the story (Disney seems transfixed in its movie stories with killing parents ((Bambi, Nemo, Lion King)).

But the acting stories I think are fun.

james earl jones considers himself a special effect

James Earl Jones didn’t think of himself as a voice actor when he voiced the character of Darth Vadar in the Star Wars movies.

He considered himself special effects…that’s all. Except that because of his voice over performance, Jones WAS Darth Vader in a way now costume or visual effect ever could be.

It seems he made $7,000 for his work on the first movie. Just my opinion but I’m guessing he made ooodles more for the sequels.
